Over 20 charities and organisations joined together, at Cirencester Ashcroft Church & Centre, to celebrate the end of National Volunteering week with a Volunteer Fair on Saturday 8th June 2019.
The event, organised by Ashcroft Work Club and Ashcroft Church & Centre, was an opportunity to highlight the extraordinary work done by voluntary organisations and provided the public with the ability to learn more about the wonderful work being carried out.
Organisations, including Cirencester Foodbank, Homestart, Abbeyfield, Corinium Radio, the Phoenix festival and many more, shared about their work and volunteer opportunities.
Ashcroft’s community worker, Anton Wynn, said ‘It was so great to have so many charities and organisations join us and to have members of the public come along and see how they can support their work. Whether it’s helping with a single event or a more long term commitment, volunteers help makes all the difference to our local community. The organisations attending also shared how helpful it was to have a change to meet and network with other groups who were there, which allowed them to share ideas and what support or activities they offer.’
