“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”2 Timothy 1:7
At Ashcroft we love to worship together and it is always a joy to be able to do that in our Sunday meeting. However we recognise that currently the coronavirus (Covid-19) presents a real danger to many in our Church and community. As a result, and in line with advice from the government, Methodist and United Reform Churches, we have suspended all Church services, groups and meetings going forward.
The centre will remain open to provide support to those most in need through the food bank, and we encourage all those able to volunteer, and not in high risk categories, to consider how they can support food bank and their local community.
We contiue to ask that you do not visit the building for Foodbank if:
– you have a new, continuous cough or fever or shortness of breath
– you have been in contact with someone who’s suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19
– you consider yourself at particular risk due to underlying health conditions etc.
If you have self isolated or are on your own without family near by do let us know so that we can keep in touch, let you pastoral visitor know, ensure you get support you need and continue to check that all is well with you as things progress.
Whilst we are not meeting we are providing a service and reflection to follow at home, along with a weekly ‘good news’ sheet. You can watch a live streamed worship service from Wesley’s Chapel here (starts 11.00am every Sunday) and live stream from Cliff College (every Tuesday and can be accessed from their facebook page here. We will also be updating our website with more materials you can follow at home.
You can also follow our podcast which include bible studies on the Holy Habits series and more, or visit our youtube channel for family and Sunday school materials using the links below.
Please join us in praying for all those affected by the Coronavirus at this time.
